Hello CCers, My daughter needs a place nearby Stanford for next 3 years. It would be ideal if it is a biking distance. But I understand if that’s not that feasible. After poking around on internet for a while, I realized how expensive that area is even for a tiny place. She would be ok with a studio, 1 bd or 2 bds (will have roommate this case) apts. Niether of us know much about the area. She will be there for a few days next weekend to look around. Any help, suggestions, ideas would be appreciated. I noticed several CCers are from the area. Btw I am posting this using my daughter’s account with her permission instead of creating a new one for me. Thanks.

I’m not sure from your post whether or not she will be a student but here is a link to a Stanford housing info page with many resources on and off campus. Assuming she will not be a Stanford affiliate she would still be able to use many of the off campus links:

[Housing Resources | Student Housing](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/rde/cgi-bin/drupal/housing/community-housing/housing-resources)

If she is working in the area you might get more help if you can be a bit more specific about where she will be, whether she will have a car, etc.

She will be a student there for 3 years. She has been looking into on-campus options. But it appears that those options are most likely 1-year deal whereas she wants to stay at the same place for all 3 years.
Anxiousmom1 – thanks for the response. She also wants to take her cat with her, but that is not allowed @ on-campus options. Yes, she will have a car, but she hopes that she doesn’t have to drive if she can help.
