Looking for a place to stay in Oahu...on the beach or walking distance

I’m looking to stay for about a week in a condo in Oahu, preferably on a sandy, swimmable beach.

The beach is the most important part.

Sleeps 6 to 8.

Not in Waikiki.

My wife and I taking 4 to 6 20 year olds.

I don’t know know this island very well.

Any suggestions.

I was sent this…

Is Ko Lina nice?

Ko Olina is NICE. If you don’t care for loud nightlife, it is the place to be. We stayed at a Marriott in Ko Olina. I’d go back in a heartbeat. The beach is a series of man-made lagoons, and they are very swimmable with some good snorkeling, too.

BunsenBurner, thanks.

Is there a place to body surf at the resort? Nearby?

Sorry, dstark, I can’t help you here since we are not into bodysurfing. :)

Sounds like Diamond Head might work for you:

Don’t let them keep you up too late.

You might try checking for reviews, etc. on trip advisor. You could also post on their forum for the area and I’m sure you will get more opinions than you need :)

OK. Thanks everybody.

On Oahu, I recommend the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club. Friend’s of ours stayed there before and rave about it. We prefer staying at the Four Season’s Maui and always have a fabulous time. I’m sure you will as well :)

That’s the Marriott we satyed in! Really nice place.

Ko Olina is lovely and has great beaches, but bodysurfing is best on the windward side at Sandy Beach and Makapu’u Beach. If you’ll have a rental car, the ride from Ko Olina to the windward side via H3 has some incredible vistas, particularly returning west to east. You should probably send a PM to HImom.
