Looking for a Purdue University Roommate...maybe...

Preference:

 1. No smoking/Drinking in the room
 2. No loud music when studying
 3. Sleep with lights out
 4. Neat/Clean
 5. Please don’t bring unwanted parties into a the room
 6. Clean after yourself
 7. etc.
 8. Taking CS or any Engineering class or Business class
 9. No Explicit Content please…
 10. the list can go on but these are some of the basics

Good luck finding a roommate with that list. But hey, if you were to find anyone who meets and exceeds those expectations it would be here, on CC.

Try posting on the Purdue board if you haven’t already.

ehh…so there is nobody like this???

what purdue board?

wow, you sure sound fun to live with

isnt college about being independent and taking care of yourself?

yeah… but its not about being lame.

i think a lot of people would qualify up until the no explicit language. that ****** cracks me up. *******.

No explicit content? Is that referring to what I think it’s referring to?

I didn’t realize there was such a thing.

You should visit Purdue before you go, the freshmen dorms aren’t exactly quiet/study friendly.

College is a lot about being tolerant. I had roommates I didn’t like much and I had some I did. I think I’m a better person for it. I say let housing randomly determine your roommate.

Finding a roommate on CC is even worse than finding a roommate on Facebook… Wow.

what the OP should have said:
“hi. i’m an uptight narcissist looking for someone on college confidential who has a submissive personality and is as socially awkward as i am.”

unfortunately, only one of those qualities will be found…

You sound like a great roommate…

explicit content as in dirty posters and stuff like that… language i can tolerate…
idk … i guess the real question is if there are these types of people who rather get college over with than just partying all night long…however i am going to say that i am not the type like ExploreerCY said… its just too extreme

anybody have any suggestions on where to find a good roommate?
besides FB and CC?

JoeJoe05 thanks…i guess this is going to be really difficult for me now if i actually go to Purdue…

just fill out the questionnaire. let the computers match you with someone… think of it like Mystery Date… or not… totally up to you dude.

I honestly don’t know ANYONE who would freely put up pornographic materials in a dorm room that he or she shares with another person. Seriously dude, lighten up a bit. And College Confidential is NOT the place to look for a roommate.

itoushiro

While your post does come off in a harsh manner, don’t let the posters on CC distract you from what you want to do. Personally, I think it’s admirable that you are focused enough to go into college with the mindset that you want to finish quickly and do well. While that path isn’t for everyone, and while college should also be about learning some social skills, having a determination to succeed with minimal distractions is a great thing to have. Perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to lighten up a bit and keep a somewhat open mind, but keep your focus… and ignore those people who can only find words to put you down instead of give any meaningful advice.

Sounds like this kid was home schooled

sounds like a lot of kids don’t understand a peaceful living environment…

Alright I came into purdue thinking I didn’t care who i got and I lucked out and got someone cool i can get along with. You need to be open-minded. I sleep with the TV on, my roommate wants it silent so i turn it down quite a bit. You gotta compromise.

Aside from cleanliness (which I often fail at when I’m under stress), I’m a good match… except I’m graduating next semester :stuck_out_tongue: And I study way too much. You’ll probably be the one who bugs me!

What year are you btw?

I don’t know, I like your standards but I’ve got a year or so to find out if I’m actually going to Purdue.
