My son’s fiancee is in downtown Dallas, Texas for business for a few weeks and her birthday is Tuesday. I would like to send a birthday cake, or something special to be shared with her group. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to take care of this in the morning in the hopes I can have something arrive on time.

I totally forgot it was her birthday and don’t want to be a bad MIL to be ;)

Snowball, I have no knowledge, but maybe if you know what hotel she is staying at, could you contact the concierge for a suggestion/recommendation?

Snowball, a cake is nice, but sharing it can be messy, especially if she is staying in a hotel room. Cupcakes or tasty brownies might work better!

I thought of cupcakes, but I am not sure how many will be around, so figured cutting a cake would be easier. Actually, it is going to at a law firm as she is there working on a trial, so the visiting lawyers huddle at a local office. I would assume the law firm has plates and silverware, but may send paper along if the bakery can provide.

If I go the cupcake route, I see Sprinkles has a Dallas location, so that is always a possibility; I would prefer a cake though.

gosmom- good idea to check with the hotel; I will call in the morning.

Central Market? A Texas-based chain, but better than any ol’ 1-800 place. :)

From the website …

Do you deliver? Is there a minimum purchase required?
Yes, we deliver. We request that you place your order for delivery at least 24 hours in advance. While there is no minimum purchase required for delivery, the fees vary depending on your ZIP code.

I asked a friend who lives there and she suggested either http://www.societybakery.com for a cake, or Tiff’s Treats
(214) 720-0500 who will deliver warm cookies, or cupcakes from Cupcakery Uptown (214) 855-0003.

I can’t think of any cake bakeries that deliver, but you can get dozens of yummy, warm cookies for Tiff’s Treats. (I just saw that the poster above recommended Tiff). My kids were addicted to the their cookies - lots of varieties and always warm and gooey.
