Hi, everyone
I live in California. As the tuition for UCs gradually gets higher and higher, I decide not only to consider UC schools as my first choices but also some universities outside the state.
OK, let me get it straight. I kinda want to go to east coast for college; however, my parents don’t have enough money to afford the tuition. I have no clue about the financial aids and stuff like that. Will money really be an obstacle to prevent me from getting into colleges outside the state???

It really depends on the colleges you apply to. Many of the east coast schools are need-blind, which means they do not consider financial need in their admissions. Furthermore, a bunch of these same colleges (especially if you’re looking at ivies) also meet 100% of financial need; they basically pay your way if you can’t afford to. But it does depend on what colleges you apply to. I’d advise you to visit the websites of each university- they usually list all the information you could ever want or need under undergrad admissions.
