I’m a geology major at the University of Maine Farmington looking into applying for the Critical Language Scholarship program for the 2016 summer. I particularly want to study Bangla, and I’m looking for alumni from this program to see what their experience was like. There are very few alumni testimonials from the Bangla program, and even fewer resources about what living in Bangladesh is like (I’ve found a few resources, but overall, there isn’t much). What was it like living in Dhaka/Bangladesh as a whole? What did you like the most? What did you like the least? How much Bangla did you learn, and do you still use it today? What made you want to go to Bangladesh in the first place? I have a ton of questions, and any CLS alum from any program is welcome to answer. Thanks a lot!
