Looking for Insight

Hello CC. I’ll admit that ai would never admit this anywhere else, but I’m am definitely worried my current position won’t match my future goals. I am a Junior, and my stats currently are (partic. will include senior year)

4.0 unweighted GPA (school doesn’t do weighted for whatever reason)
32 ACT
Taking all AP’s I can fit.
Nearing Eagle Scout
NHS 2 years
Probably over 50 hours of service at this point.
Student Council Freshman Year (only year offered)
Selective Reading Group 5 years
Marching and Symphonic Bands (audition-only top groups with letter) since 5th grade.
Spanish Club 3 years
Valedictorian Candidate
Quiz Bowl/Academic Team 4 years
Swim Team 4 years (3 letters)
Tennis Team 2 years (hopefully 2 letters as well)
Paid Work Experience since summer after 10th grade

If you made it this far, the problem is my family is well above the financial aid threshold (Caucasian), and they won’t be paying for any sort of college. I’m looking to earn a full ride to Ohio State, but will apply to all the Ivies and Stanford despite not being able to pay for them anyway.

If anyone can tell me how this honestly looks I would much appreciate it.

As far as the ivies and Stanford are concerned, you haven’t offered enough information about your intended major, AP test scores and the like. There is also a noticeable lack of leadership and wide breadth but nothing really stands out currently.

Also, I would look at including more schools to your list that just Ohio State and the ivies, especially if what you’re looking for is a full ride somewhere. You never know what might happen and the more applications you send out the more likely one of the universities to which you applied will offer what you need.

Sorry for any lack of information. Right now, I’m leaning towards a major in astronomy and physics.

As for AP tests, I haven’t taken any yet as the school won’t even offer them to students below Juniors.

Band and Scouts are where most of my leadership experience come in. During band, I’ve had the privilege of being a Squad Leader as a sophomore and junior (undoubtedly senior year as well). Additionally, I acted as Co-Section Leader (trombones) in marching band and true section leader during Symphonic Band (as a Junior, which is unheard of at the school). Scouting has gotten me several more opportunities, including Patrol Leader, Scribe (attendance/notes), Quartermaster (management), and lots of minor Assistant positions.

Hopefully this new information can allow you guys to make a more accurate judgment.

Thanks!
