[Looking for (new) SAT profiles of the elite Boarding Schools]

Question 1: Does any one know where to find the statistics on the (new SAT) scores? I can see only the old 2400 SAT.

Question 2: Does any of the school publish the (new) SAT score statistics on their newly admitted 10th/11th graders? Or does any Boarding School look at SAT for admission?

Many thanks!

Question 1. I didn’t see that compiled anywhere. However, some schools had SAT data ( albeit a year or two old so might be old SAT) scores that were available either on the web site or given out in the Admissions office. I was surprised they weren’t higher especially at the schools where they had very low acceptance rates. Some were comparable to good LPS.

You can often find the outgoing SAT scores by searching for the college profile of the boarding school in question (e.g., google “[name of school] college profile pdf”.

I agree with @Happytimes2001 that the numbers often look low, especially as they are typically going to be the highest achieved for any particular student, and are likely not matched by candidate (i.e., they are not averages or ranges of composite scores actually received, but rather individual sections that were likely superscored). Achievement test scores also often seem surprisingly low, at least to me.

1/ If available, it would be on the school profile. E.g. Andover publishes the new data:
https://www.andover.edu/files/PhillipsAcademySchoolProfile2017-2018.pdf

2/ AFAIK, no school publishes SAT data for admitted students. You could ask your target schools, though.

Thank you - skieurope. This Andover report is very helpful - in particular, it has side by side data on new SAT and old SAT.

On question 2: I will ask, but in absent of new info, I feel it would be safe to assume the SAT statistics on 10th grade or 11th grade would be approximate 50 points lower (each year younger).

In according to my scientific research, the new SAT 1570 is much easier to reach than the old SAT’s 2370. I gathered data at several parties, where many older kids presented.

Also, it appeared more students are getting 1600 in the new SAT than the old 2400.

As such, the new SAT is at most a self-inflated-qualification-exam for the average-general population. Competitive-universities and competitive-applicants consider other items (EC) as indicators.

HS Class of 2017 was allowed to take and submit new or old SAT (test changed in the middle of their 11th grade). Some colleges will accept the old SAT for class of 2018 grads, but most will probably take the new SAT.
