Looking for OT programs abroad with full scholarship (Thai student, low GPA, published research)

Hi! I’m a Thai student currently in Grade 12 (Mathayom 6). My cumulative GPA is around 2.00, but I have a research project that was accepted and published in an academic journal. I’m really passionate about Occupational Therapy and would like to study it abroad.

I’m looking for universities that:
• Offer Occupational Therapy (Bachelor’s level)
• Accept international students (especially Thai students)
• Accept my qualifications (Thai M.6 diploma or GED)
• Offer full scholarships (or very low tuition)
• No application fee would be a bonus

2.0 probably isn’t your GPA in US terms - 2.0 means “close to being kicked out of high school”.
What classes are you taking and how do you rank compared to students in your school? Are you one of the best students in your region or in Thailand?

Have you taken the SAT or ACT?

Second, for the US (and, to a lesser extent, many other countries), what will matter is your budget. How much can your parents afford, per year?

Do you speak any Foreign Language beside English? (Especially French or German?)

I can speak a little Chinese

Also, occupational therapy in this country requires a masters degree (at least). Part of doing that masters is three externships. I don’t have any idea how easy (or hard) it would be for an international student to do the externships.

Does this mean your family can not pay anything for you to attend college?

In addition to an application fee, most schools that offer full rides also require the CSS Profile in order to award their institutional financial aid. There is a fee to submit that to each college. And, some colleges do require submission of the SAT or ACT scores and there is a fee to submit those.

And…

In addition to tuition, you will have fees, room, board, personal expenses, health insurance and transportation costs.

Is there a place in your home country where you can study occupational therapy?

I think you will have a hard time finding a completely funded program in the US. Have you looked at options in Thailand?

There are no longer any OT bachelor’s level programs in the US.
