ECs:

 • President of my school diversity club
 • Editor-in-Chief of school newspaper
 • Music honor society member
 • Link Crew leader (freshman integration)
 • Over 100 service hours at a low income Hispanic school (where I learned Spanish and reconnected with my culture)
 • Submitted a plan to school administration for greener technology and compost that was put into action

I developed an eating disorder my freshman year, its climax at the end of sophomore and beginning of junior year. I sought treatment, and my junior year has been comprised of ups and downs. But I am a stronger person through accepting my insecurities. I have had 3 doctor appointments for hours every single week and for that reason have several Bs and less than ideal ECs.

I am really weird. I love love to learn, and I hate how little our school system is focused on actual learning. I read allll the time. I am passionate about the world and people and unity and healing, and have so many ideas and hopes. I’m very outspoken and I love people.

I am really looking for a school in a fairly big city, or at least close to one. Other than that, the only other requirement in a school is that it be intellectually stimulating, with lots of interesting diverse people. I went on a college tour, and loved the vibes at Brown, Tufts, and Reed. But I need matches and safeties.

Here is my list so far, comprised of mainly reaches… Brown, Tufts, Reed, Columbia, UChicago, Columbia, UCBerkeley

How much can your family afford? That’s a part of being a safety.

I am applying for a lot of financial aid! I would love a list of matches and safeties regardless of tuition cost

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships.html

Check out Soka University. You would get good merit aid, and it has a very diverse international population. It’s a small, new, up-and-coming college in Aliso Viejo, and was founded by buddhists (but has no religious affiliation). I visited for a sports event recently and was very pleasantly surprised!

Pitzer, Mills, Macalester, Smith, Mills, Santa Clara U, Willamette, Lewis and Clark, Occidental, Kalamazoo, UC Santa Cruz

Add Scripps to the list as well, especially if you happen to visit Pitzer, since it’s right next door.

What about George Washington U and American in DC? GWU is definitely urban. American less so, but still in DC proper. Both award merit aid and have very diverse student bodies. If you liked Boston area, what about Brandeis? May be a bit of a reach, but you have solild stats and an interesting story with some hooks.
