Is it easier for kids from the East and Midwest to adapt to the South and West Coast compared to Western and Southern kids adapting to the East Coast and Midwest?
I’m sure it depends on the kid and the college. I suspect a coastal hipster would adjust to Austin or New Orleans pretty easily, but might not be happy at a small southern college or even at Ole Miss or 'Bama. My Jersey Boy #2 decided he had spent his entire life in the northeast and wanted to go elsewhere for college. He is very happy in FL, and thinks he wants to stay there. The challenge of turning a purplish state blue appeals to his political activism.
