Cost of airline flights (assuming that you are not flying international first class) is relatively small compared to the difference in cost of college (e.g. compare New York University to Stony Brook University). If cost of airline flights is a concern, then you should talk to your parents about what your actual college cost constraints are, and consider that colleges with more expensive airline flights need to be held to a slightly lower cost limit.
