We have an orchard near us that has great jam, canned peaches, apples, applesauce, apple butter, etc. I love to send their gift baskets because they are local and hence unique for anyone out of the area… (And I like to patronize local businesses. ) Do you have something like that near you?
Beecher’s cheese is as good as advertised, but the mail-order price is intimidating. For less than half the cost, you can get twice as much at at least some Costco’s, then mail it out yourself. The local store has two or three varieties, including the flagship flavor. They put their mac and cheese recipe online for free and the result using that cheese is amazing.
Cheeses are great. We have so many yummy varieties in the area. The farm to table movement began many years ago where I am and I reap the benefits…which I like to share with my faraway kids.
I make gift boxes by buying HI foods and putting them in flat rate USPS boxes and shipping. So far, have never had complaints.

Pistachios & pecans (Chile roasted pistachios in the shell)

Pinon candies, chile-flavored chocolates and nut brittles. (Their red chile & dark chocolate pistachio bark is really good!)

And I just shipped my SIL a case hot salsa and a case of red & green chile sauce from this place. It’s a local restaurant that has a booming side business in all things chile. (But a word of warning --their scorpion salsa is not for the faint of heart—or stomach–they use ghost peppers.) They also make specialty tequillas, but they don’t mail order those.

How do we get on your Christmas list?!
Blood relatives, healthcare providers, and friends for decades are my Christmas list.
Dancing seers. Near Cambridge, Massachusetts
We have ordered from Vending Nut Company. Everything from plain, mixed nuts to chocolate covered nuts (we like the almonds) has been fresh and delicious. http://vendingnutco.com/
Fairytale Brownies are spectacular. I client use to send them to me every year and got my family hooked.
I’m another huge fan of Enstrom’s toffee! Have been gifting it for 25 years, for personal and biz gifts. They’re a wonderful company with outstanding products. Yum!
We like [Krause’s Chocolates](https://www.krauseschocolates.com/). Their handmade candy is so good. They make organic and sugar free, but I like their hand-dipped full calorie chocolates (way more than I need to like them).
We’ve been buying [Bella’s Biscotti](http://www.bellashbg.com/) for years too. I like the cranberry orange and cherry chocolate amaretto, but they have a bunch of other varieties. A couple of my siblings have recently changed to gluten-free diets, so I was happy to see Bella’s carries something for them too.
Jeni’s is AMAZING ice cream - first many locations in the Columbus, Ohio area and has expanded to major cities like Nashville, Chicago, etc. The shipping might put you over $50, but they do have a “buy 4 pints, get 2 free” through Monday. https://jenis.com/
I’m happy to give flavor suggestions. ![]()
I need to add–Kakawa Chocolates.
https://kakawachocolates.com
Unique candies made with agave nectar instead of sugar. I love their drinking elixirs–hot chocolate drinks with flavorings added from mesoamerica, historical Europe or contemporary North America.
American Spoon from northern Michigan has wonderful artisanal fruit preserves and condiments, attractively packaged.
Hubb’s Peanuts
Everyone loves it when we send things from Nuts.com. They have a huge selection of really fresh and tasty things ( not just nuts). Shipping is fast and it’s much lower cost than shipping from anyplace else I’ve ordered from.
Think local. If you live in Vermont, send maple syrup. Georgia pecans. Oregon Pinot.
I sometimes send Fran’s chocolates, specifically their salted caramels. (Seattle-based company).
I like finding things specific to a region and sending them from the source. NYS has maple syrup and apple products so when I want to send a gift I go to the websites of small farms like [Ingles Maple Products](http://www.inglesmapleproducts.com/) in Richfield Springs or [Flycreek Cider Mill](http://www.flycreekcidermill.com/) in Cooperstown.
Thanks, @Patsmom, for making this thread. I’ve bookmarked it so I can add products from other states to my list.
I like to send local to me things to my family who lives far away…but for my local folks…I want something different…because they can get their own local stuff from here.
Great thread…lots of good ideas!!
