Looking to transfer from PA to CA

Hello everyone,

Im currently a rising sophomore at a small liberal arts college (Ursinus) in PA. Im studying chemistry and Spanish on a pre-pharmacy track. My current GPA is a 3.2. My ACT score was a 28.

Originally when applying to college I thought I wanted to stay close to home. I was very wrong.

I’m looking for colleges in California with similarities to my current school such as:
-Spanish and chemistry majors
-small, liberal arts (about 2000 students)
-not very selective
-offers good study abroad program
-offers student research opportunities

all feedback is welcome, thank you in advance

I apologize if this is not the correct spot/thread to post this discussion.

I can’t do all the research for you, but I recommend starting with some colleges like:
Whittier College
Occidental College

With a 3.2 you’re probably not getting into the Claremont Consortium.

These don’t fit your exact qualifications but check these out too:
St Mary’s of CA
University of Redlands.

There aren’t very many schools with an enrollment around 2000 in CA. Most smaller ones are around 3000-9000. Maybe check out Vanguard, Cal Lutheran, Biola, La Verne, USD, or Mount St. Mary’s (if you don’t mind all women’s). Best of luck!

Biola and Vanguard are very religious universities that are not particularly respected in the world of academia. If your faith is very important to you that’s fine, but I recommend not going to those unless necessary. Cal Lutheran and La Verne are also religious, but have better reputations.
