Do you mean Rioja? We’re touring that area in July.
And then in September, husband and son are going to the wine festival near his college (northern PA, believe it or not!).

Yup, came back from HI, courtesy of Marriott’s timeshare salespitch. Paid $300/5 nights in an ocean-view room at a nice resort and only had to view a 10-min video and chat with a sales guy for 10 min. As soon as he realized that we were there for the freebies, he moved on to the next target. Really low pressue sales.

Sonoma is my birthday gift. We agreed to give/get less stuff. If I encounter any good reds, I will post my reviews here.

“Inexpensive ($10), very fruity, excellent-for-summer-nights red: Apothic Red.”

Yes, this is very good. But it may be more expensive elsewhere. We get fantastic wines very cheaply in Washington. I just went to Fred Meyer, and got a very tasty assortment of (not low class) wines for between $3.50-$5.00 a bottle. Really. Apparently if they get heavy shipments of certain wines, they price it way low until they get rid of enough. And these were very tasty wines I would have paid 2-3 times the price for.
