There’s a professor that goes to my church that I know but he teaches science at a different college and I’ve never taken a class with him. He knows me pretty well. Do you think I could ask him for a science LOR for med school?

If he’s never taught you, how on earth is he supposed to know if you’re any good at science? No.

No, LORs need to come from a professor who has taught you in a class situation. The professor from church can submit a supplemental character reference letter, but it can’t be used to fulfill the science LOR requirement.
