b) what constitutes and award that YOU can boast on your application.
(i.e. if my school newspaper which i’m an editor of wins an award is that something I can talk about, or does it only have to be an award for me personally)</p>
<p>No se si son TAN importantes… pero creo que premios que no son muy comunes o lo que sea son los mejores.
Por ejemplo, puse el premio “Toshiba ExploraVision Honorable Mention” en mi solicitud porque cada persona en las calles no tiene ese premio. </p>
<p>El premio del periodico es algo interesante, lo pondria en mi solicitud si yo sea tu. </p>

<p>I don’t think Awards and such are extremely important unless you win Intel/Westinghouse or something of that caliber. If you have some interesting awards that aren’t ridiculously impressive but that make you a unique person and applicant, they will definitely help you formulate a good image of yourself on your application.</p>

<p>Do you speak Spanish for real, or do you just take it in school? Because I just take it school, but I love that I’ve been taking it for long enough that I could perfectly understand everything you said

<p>Yeah, I would say what I said was pretty accurate, I wouldn’t freak out too much about awards since the vast majority of people’s awards aren’t mind-blowingly amazing.</p>

<p>I’m getting the general sense that if you have something wicked cool then you should put it down, but if you have some random stuff that’s incongruent to the rest of your application and doesn’t say much about you then you should just leave it out. </p>
<p>But what about honor roll…not NHS, but like your school’s honor roll/high honor roll…lame sauce or no? What’s the general consensus on this?</p>

<p>Yeahh learning Spanish/French/English when you already know one of these languages is really confusing. I always mix up ‘‘mi’’ with ‘‘my’’ ahah. French definitely helps when you don’t know the meaning of some Spanish words though.</p>
<p>At least they have an alphabet. I can fluently speak Chinese, but I can’t read or write it at all. Looks like gibberish to me.</p>
<p>“Si se puede” is a type of passive voice in Spanish meaning “It can be done.”</p>
<p>Kind of like “Se habla espanol.” Spanish is spoken.</p>
