what if you lose or damage your college degree? im talking about the piece of paper with your name and major. will the university give you another one?

I actually threw mine out. But atleast my school had a program where you can call and they will send another one. I think you call student affairs. But it was $1200 at my school which was a Suny.

No way. At the SUNY that I graduated from—You just go to the Registrar page of the college’s website. Click on “Graduation”.
Click on “reorder graduation certificate”. Fill out the form and send a check for $20.00.

To the OP, call the registrar of your college and they’ll tell you what to do to order a replacement. It can take up to a few months for them to process it.

Idk after I trashed the thing my mother wanted another one, they told us $1200

She was probably p…ed that you lost it and made that story up. I checked on my SUNY website tonight after reading the thread and it costs $20 with a simple form that can be downloaded from the registrar section of the school’s website.

Is a “graduation certificate” the same thing as a diploma?

In my previous post, I actually should have typed “diploma reorder” rather than "reorder graduation certificate. On my college’s website, the directions are as follows:

go to website, go to registrar section, click on “forms”, click on “graduation”, click on “diploma reorder”. Print out form, fill it out, send in the $20.00 check, and wait a few months for it to be processed.

If you can’t find the info on your college’s website, call the registrar’s office and ask how to order a new diploma.

And of course, if it isn’t a diploma REorder, you can ask a degree mill … j/k
