Losing accent

Accents are not ‘set’ at a particular age. Please ignore those suggestions. I know TONS of people- after working 30 years in an international industry- that defy this logic. Who makes this stuff up? Kids should not be counselling kids sometimes.

^ What on earth are you talking about?

Haven’t you met foreigners who’ve lived in the US for 30 or 40 years and still have distinctive accents? What about Henry Kissinger, ffs?

Now you may be right that it doesn’t apply to everyone, but it is the norm.

Oh, and cram your condescension.

Accents can be a handicap at times, but a soft, modified accent can be super endearing .By modified,I mean, erasing any flaws in it and fusing it with another one, without losing it entirely. Why not try this?It always works out for people, and they tend to stand out in a positive way, that endears them to others.Good luck girl!
