LOST ALL my financial aid! Schools with transfer aid??

I go to a small LAC on the East Coast, and, due to an unfortunate computer glitch and lack of communication from my school, I seem to have lost ALL my financial aid. I have an EFC of between 3000-5000 and was getting $45,000+ a year in need-based grants from my school, whose tuition is now over $56,000/year. I also have a National Merit Scholarship worth $4,000/year and a few small loans. I am currently reapplying for aid, but I am not anticipating receiving a timely response or my full aid back. Therefore, I’m pretty sure I will not be able to return to school in the fall (aka less then a month…).

I am a rising junior, pre-veterinary Neuroscience major, and I am considering applying for transfer admission for Spring 2014 rather than trying to go back to my current institution after a semester off. I already applied for transfer admission to University of Delaware last fall for Spring 2013. I was admitted but did not receive nearly enough aid.

My biggest concern is finding schools (on the East Coast) that offer hefty financial aid (either via grants or scholarships) to transfer students who come from 4-year colleges rather than 2-year colleges. I would also like to find a school that offers Neuroscience and/or some sort of Animal Science or Pre-veterinary major. I have mostly public institutions like University of Delaware, Penn State, Rutgers-New Brunswick (I am a NJ resident), University of Maryland, and Ohio State in mind right now, but I do not know much about their aid policies.

If anyone can offer any suggestions or advice, that would be fantastic! This is a horribly stressful situation, so every little bit helps!!

I don’t get it, you are changing schools because of a computer glitch? Can’t you just call their financial aid office and ask about it? Seems like you are getting stressed over nothing…

Talk to your school, if it was just a simple computer glitch as you say then you should be fine. Just sort it out.
