Thank you for sharing the article about 2nd Lt. Emily Perez. Heartbreaking news. I also read the article in the New York Times last week about women killed in combat.</p>
<p>Since there is no “front line” all troops are in combat including women. Ironic…they aren’t allowed in combat arms but they are in just as much danger as if they were.</p>

<p>One of the female Marines killed in September was the sister of a 2/C mid currently at USNA.</p>
<p>Last week Charles Gibson of ABC News was quoting some figures on the war in Iraq. He said that 6,600 Iraqis had been killed during the months of July and August 2006. He went on to say that would be the equivalent of 75,000 Americans based on our population.</p>
