Lost Stanford PhD acceptance letter and could use help!

Hi how is everyone doing? Anyway I recently was admitted to Stanford’s PhD program in Neuroscience for this fall of 2011, however I mistakenly misplaced my letter as I was moving my belongings from my friends place in London, England out of her flat since I am returning to the U.S. Basically, I was wondering if someone could provide me with a temporary acceptance letter (via e-mail/PM) showing what the Neuroscience program entails/admittance; as the coordinator there told me I won’t receive another one for 3 weeks or so in that respect. This is due to myself being out of the country and my parents are bugging me about it, so this would greatly be appreciated in that manner.

If you have any specific questions (e.g. about your funding offer or the program structure or your student ID or next steps), the graduate coordinator or department secretary might be happy to answer those while you are waiting for another copy of your admission letter.

You got into Stanford and accepted to give away potentially 6 years of your life but don’t know what the program entails? You are probably legit, but this post seems awfully fishy/bizarre.

I’m pretty sure there’s this recent invention called electronic mail where they could provide you with a copy of the letter nearly instantly.

Are you really that clueless on how to obtain another copy of your letter? (If so, I could understand why you wouldn’t try – they might come to their senses!)

In his defense, the department may not want to email him a copy of his letter.

I got off the waitlist at Stanford two weeks before the reply deadline. The department refused to email me a copy of my admission letter (which came by snail mail several weeks later) but they did provide me with all of the information I needed to get going (funding details, my student ID so that I could accept the offer online, etc).

That being said, I am not sure what good another student’s admission letter would do him.

Not surprising, since the official acceptance letter comes from the Graduate Poobah/Registar; a copy of which then goes to the Department Chair.

However, I gotta believe that a pdf will now appropriate…but then this is likely spam since as you note barium, why would anyone else’s letter be of value.

b@r!um thanks for the advice and I have e-mailed the coordinator in regards to assisting me with my Student ID and funding so I can be set-up in the system. Moreover, they have to mail me another letter separately since it is three pages in length and comes accompanied with orientation information and other pertinent things. However in the mean time can someone just send me a general phD acceptance letter pertaining to the Neuroscience program so that I can just pacify my family:D
