<p>Lawrence and Beloit are really exceptional options for those not happy with their current lot.</p>
<p>I’ve talked to Hampshire college a few days ago and they’re still taking apps I think. (I have odd circumstances but they’re letting me apply)</p>
<p>Some other notable schools on the list:</p>
<p>Cal Arts (extraordinary animation program. Friend’s sister graduated from there, now she’s a head animator for Adventure Time)</p>
<p>Centenary College (don’t know much about it, but the Princeton Review claims its a good school)</p>
<p>Colorado State University (fantastic animal science program)</p>
<p>Embry Riddle (one of the best flight programs in the US)</p>
<p>Green Mountain College (very very hippie school)</p>
<p>Hofstra (in Long Island, gave my friend a near full ride. She’s very
happy there)</p>
<p>Kettering (good, hands on engineering. In a depressed city)</p>
<p>Lake Forrest College (suburban Chicago)</p>
<p>Lewis & Clark College (hipster vibe, just outside of Portland. Strong
outdoors program)</p>
<p>Loyola Marymount University (near Santa Monica, Ca. Medium sized, liberal Jesuit school. It seems to be relatively strong all around and its campus is gorgeous)</p>
<p>Michigan Tech (small, rural engineering school. Great geology program)</p>
<p>Montana State University (fantastic outdoors program with good sciences)</p>
<p>Morehouse College (all-male HBCU in Atlanta. It, along with Spellman and Howard are considered the best HBCUs out there)</p>
<p>Oglethorpe University (small private school outside of Atlanta. Beautiful campus)</p>
<p>SUNY Maritime (one of a very few cargo shipping schools in the US. Excellent industry recruiting)</p>
<p>University of Dallas (very Catholic school with a strong humanities program. Students spend a semester in Italy)</p>
<p>University of San Francisco (extremely liberal Jesuit school in the heart of San Francisco. Many B students go here and love it)</p>
<p>Valparaiso University (one of the strongest undergrad meteorology programs in the nation. Also offers engineering. Smaller school)</p>
<p>Warren Wilson College (a work school with a strong environmental science program. All students are required to work 15 hours a week in various campus jobs)</p>
