Loud noise alerts cops - 105 arrested

Some local news forwarded to me by a friend:

[Police: 105 arrested at underage drinking party](http://www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/news/local/police-105-arrested-at-underage-drinking-party)

How dumb were these kids? If you gonna party, at least check what’s in the vicinity of your house! I feel sorry for the neighbors…

Kind of reminds me of the incident at Northeastern a couple of years back about the freshman boys shouting out the dorm windows about selling weed and the cops within earshot…can’t fix dumb

Back in the 70s I saw a car in Boston with the vanity plate “STONED.” I figured that was a bad move. :D

Is this the party Worriedmom was worried about:) ?

The article is wrong. I looked on Google Earth and MapQuest and it looks a lot further than 200 yeards. MapQuest puts the distance at 0.9 miles.

My oldest went to Colby-Sawyer for three semesters until he decided to switch majors and needed to transfer. Seamans Road runs beside and behind the college and also provides access to the dorms, parking and athletic fields. If I remember correctly, several of the houses in that area are occupied by students. The houses are only on one side of the street (CSC is on the other side) and they are mostly spaced quite a bit apart. I believe the police station is on the corner of Seamans Road and Main Street. It is a fairly small rural town. At this time of year, with the leaves gone from the trees, I don’t think it would take much noise for people to notice as the sound would carry pretty easily. As the student population at Colby-Sawyer is around 1100, 105 students is nearly 10% of them. We know of several student/alcohol situations which occurred and feel that the college takes alchohol use & abuse very seriously and very responsibly. It is very unfortunate that so many students were so stupid.

True. My first husband was a police officer in London at a police station in a pretty posh area. They arrested a burglar that broke into the back of a terraced house - which happened to be the police station.
