Low-Ball Job Offer

Ds2 has an interview next week!

This is definitely the fairy dust thread. I don’t want to say too much but I may have good news to report next week. If nothing else, my D has been called back on four different opportunities. Next step is an onsite for one and a presentation via youtube for another. Another is getting close to the final stages. It’s nail biting time for this parent.

Fairy dust, indeed. I’ve even got an interview next week!

Pending background check, kid will be starting her new job soon. B-) The last offer was worth waiting for, apparently.

Such great news on this thread!! Congrats to all

Can this pixie dust extend beyond high tech? DD2 is searching for new nursing job. Would appreciate your fairy dust on her job hunt…

Absolutely. Neither my or ds’s interviews are in tech.

Great to read good news and hope the fairy dust keeps on spreading.

I hope some fairy dust is thrown D’s way, so she can get a job when she is finally healthy enough to work!

Fingers crossed for your kiddo, HIMom.

My kid will be starting at a non-profit. So here is another example that not all jobs are in tech!

Good health and great luck to your D @HImom.

It is at last official! The offer came in yesterday and it far exceeded her expectations. She starts in a week!

Let’s keep spreading the pixie dust for all our kids!

We just hired between 250-260 individuals for jobs in IT, auditing, customer service and tax collection/investigations

They start May 15.

46 of the new hires will be working in my area. Very excited to meet them and start their training.

Yes, keep spreading the fairy dust! I had a great interview, and ds may end up with two offers. Exciting times!

This thread is making me happy. So much good news all around!

Fingers and toes crossed…my DS is waiting on internship interview results…he’s had some good interviews but need one, just one to come through!!

Looking for a whole bucket of fairy dust and a field of four-leaf clovers for another kid. D is graduating from art school in June. Last week she thought she had great chances for two different positions. Rejected from both. ( This kid has had a lot of rejections/near misses in life–she is always the “runner-up,” wait-listed, alternate, 4th place, etc.) Trying to figure out a Plan C now.

Adding to @ucbalumnus ’ list, I have always thought that the Penn career services office did the classiest job of all. The MIT reports are pretty sweet, but Penn’s regular reports have similar information and detailed breakdowns. Penn also has some 5-, 10-. and 15-year out alumni reports, too.

@atomom …sending best wishes her way! I wish I had the right words for when the rejections come through…I keep saying to DS, “you are due for a yes” and “you are getting such great practice/experience”…I hope it helps but we just have to keep their confidence boosted. They just want a “yes” (and so do we)…it will come. I just keep praying. Keep us posted

Ds2 had another phone interview that went really well. fingers crossed

Knocking on wood for all CC job seekers!
