Hello there. I am sorry to be a bother, I am new here… > . <
I have been in college for the second year now but sadly during 2012, my brother put into the hospital and along with my mother who needed someone to watch over him and plus going back to work became too much… Unable to catch up, I failed most of my classes and just quit. Normally whenever I try to do my work for college, it get thwarted by my dilemma with my sick brother (who has severe retardation and occasionally goes to the hospital). This time even the doctors say he might not able to live longer… Now I am in more worry for him then any college that I can barely concentrate not even my life… Its the first time I’m losing someone dear to me and I don’t think I’m really ready to lose him…in fact I don’t want to, he is my brother!..
I don’t know ifs its even too late for me to even try to go back to college with a very low GPA… My college counselor told me I might need to find a private school or some adult courses who are willing to take students with very low GPA’s but in one condition: must be 21 years old. I’m turning 21 in May this year but I looked all over online to see which I can in New York City (which is where I live). How is it possible to still be able to build my GPA and be able to attend college? I already have a high school diploma but its already 2 years in college… Plus I am not so sure if I am emotionally fit for college due to the situation with my brother… Im quitting my job and my mother is willing to support me by paying my tuition but its sort of building more pressure on me… I really want to try to go back to college…
