Low GPA, Good SAT for Selective Public Schools

I’m applying to UMD College Park, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Purdue, UT Austin, U of Florida, U of Miami, U of Illinois at U-C, UMichigan, and UMBC.

SAT I: 1450 (700 R, 750 M)
Unweighted/Weighted GPA: 3.33 UW, 4.88 (out of 6)
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 74/430
AP/IB (place score in parentheses): English Lang (4), Calc BC (3), AB Subscore (4), WHAP (3), PLTW AP credit
Senior Year Course Load: AP Bio, AP Lit, AP Stat, AP Econ, PLTW EDD, Symphonic Winds, Health
Awards: AP Scholar

ECs: S&D (10-12, qualified for Nationals in Duo Interpretation), FBLA (10-12), Varsity Tennis (10-12), It’s Academic (9-11), NHS, Math & Spanish Honor Societies (11-12), Senior Leader
Job/Work Experience: Summer Camp Counselor
Volunteer/Community Service: Volunteer at local hospital (~150 hrs), temple (~100 hrs), soup kitchen and religious camp
Teacher Recommendation: 7/10 from Bio teacher, have her this year and freshman—my grades in her class could be better but she likes me enough so I hope it’s decent
Counselor Rec: 8/10
Essay: 7/10, talked about family member’s cancer and how it inspired me to go into medicine
Desired Major: Biology

U.S. State/Territory or Country: MD
School Type: Semi-competitive public
Ethnicity: Asian (Indian)
Gender: Male
Income Bracket Range: $100k+
Hooks (URM, first generation, recruited athelete, development): None

I realize my GPA is terrible for most of these schools, but I’m hoping my Bio/Med-centric volunteering and SAT can make up for it for some of the less selective schools. Thoughts?

UMiami is a private school.
You may get in; hard to say. But look at the cost. They give out a lot of merit aid.
