Low GPA/ High SAT Score To A Top College?

So I’m a current junior and my high school grades haven’t been the best. I’m Asian, so it would be even harder for me to get into a top college.
Freshman: 3.39 UW & 3.67 W
Sophomore: 3.49 UW & 3.84 W
Expected junior: 3.61 UW & 4.12 W
There is an upwards trend, but I’m afraid it’s still too low for the colleges I want to apply to. For my SAT, I got a 2200. Sat II math: 750 and Bio: 730. My extracurriculars aren’t so great either. I jur started to record volunteer hours the year, so I can’t put my hours from the previous hours on my college app. I go to a highly looked upon county and the classes are tough. My school sends TONS of people to UVA and Georgetown and a handful to Ivies and other top schools each year. As for my extracurriculars they’re average as well. I was una. Number of clubs, but never did anything, so I don’t want to put them on my app.
EC: Dance for five years for ten hours/week and at least 48 weeks/year.
I’ve been committed to a single club since freshmen year. Co President this year around two hours a week and 12 weeks in a year.
Honors:NHS and SHS.
Senior courses I’m thinking about:
BC Calc
AP Physics B
US Gov HN
Lit HN (Could do AP, but I don’t think I should since the work in fashion will be a lot).
AP Spanish
Fashion 2

I would like to do a double major in physics and dance possibly. Maybe I’ll just minor in dance since physics is a tough major.
My top college choices:
Pomona (WOULD LOVE TO GO THERE <3).
Claremont Mckenna
UCLA
USC
Caltech (I figured I have no chance, but I’ll still apply).
UVA
Georgetown
Williams
Dartmouth
Vanderbilt (Safety?)
George Washington (Safety?)
JMU (Safety).

Would average teacher recommendations and an amazing essay and possible interviews give me a chance? Sorry for such a long post didn’t realize I wrote so much. >.< Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! (:

The GPA really is going to hurt you at pretty much all of your schools. You might have a chance at a few of them that care less about GPA (not sure if any of them are like that though). I know the california schools are really big on getting their stats higher… And vanderbilt is not a safety.

Pomona: Reach (that’s about as big of a reach as Caltech)
USC: High match
UCLA: High match
UVA: High match
Georgetown: Reach
Williams: Reach
Vanderbilt: Reach
GWU: Match
JMU: Safety

Northeastern seems SAT-heavy…

Fashion is a different kind of major, and very few of the schools you list will offer it. Dance also is a specialty that at least some of these schools won’t offer. You seem to have three different lists to create. And the top colleges will differ for each. Ditto the value of a high SAT score and even of high grades.

I noticed you do not have any Cal State schools. I encourage you to include them in your mix. Check with your guidance counselor for the CSU that uses your high school as a feeder school so that you have a true safety. UCLA had over 70,000 applications this year for undergraduates. Unless you are designated as ELC, may be more than a high match.
I hope this helps-APOL-a Mum

In your opinions, what are some good schools that would be a match/ safety for me?

Bump. Anyone?
