I am asking this for a friend. He is an adult who didn’t do so well in highschool because he had serious family problems. He is now estranged from his family and a financially independent adult. He wants to go to university/college. He is a first gen student from Ontario, Canada.
Does anybody has any tips for him? Where should he apply? Is there anyway he can get grants? He does not want to take out too many loans.
He’s interested in the social sciences (not sure which field exactly but possibly polisci).
