Low MCAT-HEALP!

Hi Everyone! I’m
disadvantaged immigrant,
took MCAT 2 yrs ago, got 23 (8 PS, 6VR, 9BS, O)
BCMP: 3.52, overall: 3.61 from an ivy school
Great recommendation & EC (1 science & 2 nonscience publications, many volunteer, abroad experience that are medical and non medical related, >5 yrs of clinical and bench lab research experience, presented at 2 conferences), received many awards and honors

Few questions:
• how many recommendation letter is too many? 10? I know all of them will be great though.
• Will retake MCAT in early July. Yet am afraid that I will submit my AMCAS too late. Should I submit it using my 06 score and then update the school with my new scores later on? Or should I wait, cuz I will be rejected by too many schools?
• Any chance of me getting into an ivy med school? Should I even try?
• Also interested in Md/PhD. Any chance for low tier school?
ANY suggestion and help will be great! THANKS!

“Disadvantaged immigrant” – does this mean underrepresented minority; that is, Black or Hispanic?

Ten letters of recommendation is ridiculously too many. For the most part, either your undergraduate school or the medical schools themselves will tell you what they want. Letters from professors who taught your classes, by the way, are very important.

July is a little late but not too bad. What do you think your new MCAT score would be?

apply to DO schools since you might get in with a 23 depending on interview/rest of app, but I don’t know about MD schools btw if you retake it, maybe u should do private tutoring/prep courses right now?
