Low SAT Low GPA international student

My consideration is that I attend US highschool pretty late(Joined as junior) Before I attend US highschool I attend at Korean highschool and did not have great scores overall. My cummulative gpa now is 3.0 and SAT score is about 1580(writing 440 CR420 math 720 essay8) I am planning to take 4 ap class on senior year so probably have chance to increase my gpa. Also think that I can boost my SAT at least 1650. Is there any chance I can get into colleges I want matter of fact I am international student having low GPA and low SAT?(thinking about UC Riverside, Indiana Bloomington, San Diego State, Central Florida, Arizona State, UIAC and San Jose sate and some school apply as undeclared majors)

You need to talk with your guidance counselor and get some advice. If there are other international students at your high school, your counselor should have ideas for you. You should also speak with your guidance counselor about delaying graduation for a semester or a year. Another year of high school will give you more time to improve your English, raise your GPA, and improve your W and CR scores.

What is your visa status? Can you be considered an in-state resident for tuition and fees? Ask your guidance counselor about that too.

Can your family cover the full cost of your education in the US? If so, there are lots of places that will be happy to take you with a 3.0. Because your W and CR scores are low, be sure to take the TOEFL. Many places will use that instead of the SAT for international applicants.

To learn more about admission at specific colleges and universities, send an email to the International Student Admissions Office at each place. Ask them about admission for students like you. They can give you an idea of whether or not you will be able to be admitted.

Senior year grades will not be considered for admissions at UCR, SDSU and SJSU. Only 10-11 th grades are used in the GPA calculation. Are you considered International or do you have a state of residency? You need a minimim UC GPA of 3.4 to apply to UCR or any UC if International or Out of State. In-state you need a minimum 3.0 UC GPA.

You need to calculate your CSU/UC GPA:
http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Once you have your CSU/ GPA, you can calculate your eligibilty index for the Cal States.
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR).
For SDSU, you want an EI of 4000+
For SJSU, you can look at the attached link to see for undeclared you need an EI of 3900.

How much can your family afford? OOS fees are high for these California schools.

Use all the information posted @happymom1 to help with the process.

How about attending community college and then transfer to UC later? See “UC makes it easier for community college transfers” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG2nbxeqU68

Are you a wealthy international capable of furnishing the costs of attending college? If yes, no problem, you can totally go to college in the US.

I believe i can’t delay one more year i am 19 years old and it is still old for highschool agd and might become problem if i delay one more year…but anyway thank you for advice

Is there any chance if I can pay every amount of fee than I can accept college? Because I belive money is not that big problem…

UCR will cost around $55K/year and SDSU/SJSU will cost around $36K/year. If you can pay, then yes you can get accepted into a college, as long as you meet the requirements.
