For some inexplicable reason I managed to score a 2130 on the June SAT (as the first time I took the exam), placing me in a very unfortunate position as college applications loom ahead; while there is still the option of the October SAT, its score release date most likely misses early decision/action application deadlines and to use a newer score I would likely need to use a regular application, which hurts my chances to an extent.

I have fairly decent scores for SAT Subject tests: 800 on Math I/II, Physics, and Chem, and AP scores of 5 for most of the courses I have taken, but it still doesn’t offset the 2130 on the main SAT. It has cemented itself as another shameful mark in my record on top of the low GPA (91 3-year average weighted), and I’m very angry at myself for screwing up such a critical element of the college application process.

So, it comes down to this question: should I bother with early decision applications for MIT and other universities whose deadlines come before the October SAT score release dates, or should I wait for the (hopefully better) October SAT scores?

Please do reply; any comment would be appreciated. (Don’t be afraid to just tell me outright “You are screwed, there’s no way you can get into any of the top universities with that kind of score and GPA”. I probably need to hear that.)
