<p>I took the SAT in October 2011 and got a score of 2210, but apparently this is not a high enough score for good unis? :S And it doesn’t really help that most of my friends got 2300 or above… Should I keep retaking until I pass 2300?</p>
<p>Don’t focus just on that one number or how your classmates did (it’s not a contest) and don’t focus on the handful of extreme-competitive schools with 10-15% admission rates (or lower) where applicants with >4.0 GPA and 2400 SAT scores are often unsuccessful. Consider your interests and strengths, and look at schools that match them. You can then evaluate how well your academic performance appears to match their successful applicants. </p>
<p>To the extent SAT & GPA do indicate the likylhood of a successful application, your HS guidance office or school system likely has records going back several years on applications and admissions to your target schools. That will be the best information meaninfgul to your situation, and you will get some idea of the historical trends.</p>
