I appeared for the SAT in Oct 2012 for the first time… my score really disappoints me (1410). I got 310 in CR, 400 in Writing and 700 in Maths. I cannot understand that how could I get such a low score, even in my practice tests I did far better than this. I was totally shocked on seeing my score.
I have applied to the Cleveland State University for Spring 2013 in Computer Science Engineering Program. I am really worried for my admissions. Also, I heard from many students that with a low SAT score, my VISA (major headache) also could be rejected.
I have completed my schooling in 2012 and I don’t want to wait till the fall semester. What should I do now? Should I re appear for SAT in DECEMBER.
Please help me…

Find a school that doesn’t require SAT/ACT scores for admission. There’s a list somewhere on this site; also check an organization called Fairtest, which has crusaded against standardized testing.

However, your very low verbal and writing scores suggest that you could benefit from more work in English. Can you find an ESL program in your area that will let you keep your visa?

Don’t take the test again until you’ve done something to improve the scores.

Study study and study. Retake it in December. Wake forest does not require an sat score, apply there
