Is an 1860 too low to get admitted?

hey, i got an 1870 and i applied
i think it depends on ur GPA too

1840…lol we are here with you!

woot!! Maybe we’ll ALL get in lol. did any of you aply to northwestern or brown out of curiosity? hah.a i did just to be funny b/c i know i won’t get into either one.

haha…ok…WEL…apparently an 1860 sat isn’t enough to get in – since i got REJECTED! WOOT! high five not that i even cared about the school; i applied b/c my friend goes there i hate its location there’s nothing there-no clubs lol.

Dude. Don’t kid yourself. If you applied, you probably wanted at least somewhat to go. You wouldn’t have made this post if you didn’t want to go there.

And before you call ********, this is coming from someone who scored 100 points higher on the SAT but still didn’t get in.

forced to apply. end of story lol.

My S had 800 MAth SAT (650 W, 620 CR), 4.0, 4th in class…was waitlisted

yeah, bucknell is for LOSERS! lol. Don’t worry, waitlisting puts things in perspective.

aww someone is a bit bitter

lol i’m sorry!! I’m not usually like this, it’s just…I don’ tknow. Have you ever liked a school and then slowly you started to hate it? It’s weird.

no i only got 1840 and got in

Yes, admissions officers MUST make a tough decision based on paper scores and essays and recommendations and extra curriculars. Its not a democratic process…its not fair or just many times.

Its all about the fit in the end. The admissions officers trying to glean fit. Kids trying to project fit.

Why? Because NOBODY wants to have somebody admitted who fails or is miserable. Everyone loses in that equation.

Which is why Yale and Princeton ROUTINELY reject kids with 2400 SAT’s and accept kids with 2200 or 2150. I have seen that countless times.

But as Yogi Berra said, “When you get to the Y in the road, TAKE IT!” Meaning, once you get where you are going, dont worry about the path not taken. Focus, enjoy and thrive.

Best of luck and hopefully a Great Fit!

n.b. Bucknell is a superb school. But its not for everyone. Ditto for Wake, Duke, Davidson, Vanderbilt, UVa, Swarthmore, Penn, Brown, you name it. There are LOTS of schools out there off the beaten path that are absolutely fabulous, though again, its all about the fit. Furman, Elon, William and Mary, Richmond, College of Charleston to name but a few. Its all about the FIT.
