I’m an international student from Hong Kong doing IB. I got 1940 on the sat (very mediocre) but expecting a 39 or 40 out of 42 for my predicted (7 for HL chemistry, HL psychology and SL maths, 6/7 for HL physics, 6 for English Langlit and Spanish B. Will my sat scores greatly hinder my admissions (just basing acceptance based on scores)? I’m aiming for UCLA and Berkeley for chemistry.
I would appreciate any replies. Thanks!

Regretfully, your SAT score will greatly diminish your chances at those schools since you’re an international. Your scores are below the average accepted for Berkeley and that school has no shortage of qualified international students from China.
If possible, do your best to raise your SAT scores.
