Loyola Chicago vs Loyola New Orleans

Hi, I am having a super tough time deciding between Loyola New Orleans and Chicago. I love Chicago as a city and campus, but New Orleans has the program I want to study which is Music Industry. The problem with New Orleans is that absolutely hate the city. It’s full of just weird places and things and I totally do not fit in there. The only thing is that my dream is to be a songwriter and I’m not willing to give up on it. I understand that going to a different college doesn’t mean I still can’t become a songwriter, but I really want to study this in college (But I really don’t want to be miserable either). I have absolutely no idea what to do. Plz help :frowning:

My main question would be, are there people at Loyola Chicago looking to become producers and songwriters or is this just not the place for me?

I don’t go to Loyola chi but I have friends there and love about 20 minutes away. Chicago in general is a great place to make music and find fellow creators, if not at Loyola then just around town! There’s tons of low key shows and the Chicago rap scene is crazy. One thing I’d be aware of is that Loyola chi is a bit ritzy, the social scene kind of sucks and everyone dresses up to class EVERYDAY cuz there’s tons of upper middle-upper class kids there. You can’t beat being in chi so I’d pick Chicago personally

You may want to take a look at DePaul music program - still would keep you in Chicago and they have majors closer to producing/songwriting.

But beware because DePaul is on a quarter system…

Look into Drexel and Belmont. If you have top stats and/or a good budget, Chapman and Usc.
