LSAT logical reasoning

So I have been studying prep books from a few companies and for the most part their advice is similar. However, I have one book that says you should read the question stimulus before the stem and two others saying you should read the stem before the stimulus. Is it just a matter of personal preference?

I read the stimulus, but do what you think works better

They do a survey after each application of the LSAT. I forget who conducts it, but they sample a bunch of students who took it. The majority said that they read the question stem first. I personally find this the best way when I’m doing practice tests.
