LSAT Reading Comp

Any tips for an engineer who’s not the quickest reader? I’m doing quite well on the games and logical reasoning sections (missing 0 or 1 on them), but whenever I take a diagnostic time expires before I can get to the questions on the last passage. I don’t miss many questions for the three passages that I do finish, but feel that if I were to read them any quicker I would lose content/miss more questions.

I’m taking the test October 4th, so please don’t tell me to read more…that ship passed in middle school =P

Also, where can an engineer with a 3.8 and a 170 expect to get in? I’m hoping for Stanford, but I think three students in the past five years have gotten in from Berkeley…

One thing you could try doing is to read the questions before the passage to assure that you can at least bang out all the ones that ask you about the author’s usage of a word in line 6 or the primary purpose of paragraph 5…it will hurt you a bit on the ?s that ask for an overall theme or something like that, but if you’re struggling you should make sure you get all the gimme questions right.
