LSU Admissions for Fall 2024

this is exactly how I feel. I submitted 11/15 and application was processed 11/16. I emailed admissions counselor explaining how LSU is my top choice and I am holding out for them. There is also some dance auditions with registration deadlines approaching that I was interested in. I am up north so it would be a very big commitment but I am holding out hope. Admissions counselor said every application is reviewed twice and that I should hear back in the coming weeks. Best of luck

Daughter just received acceptance for the Honors College! Applied way back in November, so they are still working through the backlog.

If you don’t mind me asking, what were her stats and are you in state or out of state?

Still waiting to hear from LSU, too. He emailed the admissions counselor last week and the counselor indicated that he was at the very end of the review process and he should expect to hear very soon.

94.5/100 (whatever that equates to, maybe a 4.2 weighted?). TO. Killer essay however and she did the preferred option not the common app option. Also, OOS.

Applied Feb 1, accepted about 10 days later , honors college acceptance a few days later , and scholarship notification the day after honors. All within February. We were nervous about applying late but it worked out I guess. Sorry so many are still waiting. It is tough !

Have you heard anything?

My daughter is still waiting. We called today and they said she should hear by the beginning of April. She applied in November and is waiting to commit anywhere else as LSU is her first choice. The waiting is so stressful for her. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

This is so challenging. What did you say when you called them, I have and they told me they could not give me a time frame which was super aggravating. Colleges are so behind this year and I think part of that is FAFSA and number of applicants.

She emailed last week and they didn’t give her much information just that she was in the review process. When I called yesterday they said we should be hearing back by the beginning of April. Her friends already went to orientation and it stressing her out.

I applied mid-October, emailed in mid-December, and got accepted mid-February. I was shocked at how long it took because people who applied after me had gotten in already, and some people who applied before me still haven’t. This was my only rolling school and I feel like other rolling schools give a decision in just a few days to around 6 weeks at most. Based on previous years, LSU was a safety, but I heard the acceptance rate dropped 20% (don’t quote me on this). Also, it is on the way to becoming the new Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, UTK, etc. I wouldn’t worry too much at this point because you will know in two weeks, I am wishing you the best and want to give you some hope with my response and my application process!

Agree that LSU is going to be one of the new “it” schools, along with 'Bama.

Nope, still haven’t heard anything, at 5 1/2 months now. My son’s friend just got accepted yesterday and she applied August 1. I though 5 1/2 months have been a long time, it took her over 7 months. I think that’s pretty ridiculous; I don’t care how many applications you get.

I believe we have given up on LSU. Son applied in November and we’ve heard nothing. At this point we’ve heard back from all of the non-rolling admission schools. With housing limited at other schools we had to go ahead and make a decision so we could put down deposits and try for a dorm. It looks like he will be going to Auburn instead. I just don’t understand why it’s not more organized by when you apply for LSU.

It really isn’t fair. For being such a big school they should have the staff and resources to truly be rolling admissions like they claim they are. Good luck to your son I’m sure Auburn will be great.

We had many of the same issues as most of you. Son F24 OOS (Philadelphia area) applied in October…he finally received his acceptance last night.

Stressful to wait so long…sincerely hope all your kids hear soon and get the news they are hoping for.

Are the merit scholarships listed anywhere on the website?

Accepted in December. Offered a nice merit package (we were surprised). Just received notice of denial for Honors College, as expected. It was worth a shot (LSU was the only Honors College applied to).

I hope those awaiting their admissions decision hear soon. My S24 will likely be turning down the admissions offer so hopefully someone gets theirs as a result. There are so many great schools for kids to grow & thrive.

Applied late Sept, accepted late Dec. No word on merit aid. Was told “late March to early April” for award pkg. Really need to enroll either at LSU or South Carolina soon. Is it unrealistic to expect huge, generous merit pkg from LSU so late in the process now?

There’s definitely going to be merit $$$ as LSU has lots tied up with kids who haven’t committed yet (a reason why we were quick to decline). Great choices. Good luck.
