LSU Admissions for Fall 2024

Is anyone still waiting on their decision for the Honors College? For those that have heard back re: Honor College, what was the timing? Thanks.

Same! It’s killing us!!! Did you email your admission’s counselor? We did last week but still haven’t heard back. My kids application was turned in Dec 12.

Haven’t heard from Honors. They seem to be overwhelmed based on our experience at the admitted students day. I think LSU is going to be one of those “it” schools in the very near future (similar to UTK, Clemson, U of South Carolina, and Auburn).

I believe my D heard back regarding Ogden approx 2 weeks after applying. The response was fairly quick. She applied to the honors collage after she received her acceptance notif. I’m sure you will hear something very soon!

Congratulations. That would indicate to me that they are holding off on otherwise qualified applicants to “shape” the class and will send out mass rejections once they have the metrics that they are trying to achieve.

Congrats to your D. My son is not high stats (3.7 weighted; 27 ACT), but LSU accepted him quickly and awarded him a surprise merit package after we had already paid the enrollment fee so I told him, “they have shown the most belief in you out of your top 5 … go for it.” It’s the only Honors Program he applied for but he did so several weeks after his acceptance.

Is anyone still waiting? I applied a while ago as OOS and from up north (if that has anything to do with it)

Have you emailed your admissions counselor? It was suggested earlier in the thread and we emailed ours. We had a decision the next week.Good luck!

Yes. We are OOS but that’s only because dad is active duty military. We are moving back to Louisiana when he retires. It’s very disheartening and very frustrating considering my dad and I both are LSU Tigers, so my kiddo would be a 3rd generation Tiger. It’s all he’s ever wanted. If they don’t want him, then they just need tell us - the hold out is really wrong. :pensive:

I think LSU has been crushed by an historic number of applications this year, just like other schools. I suspect LSU may even be more understaffed relative to the other school so that plus their typical relaxed approach to reviewing applications, really lengthens the time for some people to get evaluated unfortunately. Crossing my fingers that your kid’s acceptance comes soon!

Thank you for his service and yours as a military spouse. We were completely frustrated too and the wait killed us. LSU was THE school my son fell in love with. He couldn’t see himself as anything other than a Tiger. We moved to Louisiana 3 years ago and honestly thought he would go back to school in our home state. Don’t give up! I don’t think its that they don’t want him. I think they are overwhelmed by the number of applications. Follow up with someone by phone if you can. We applied in mid December. Putting out positive thoughts for you all!

We still know people who are waiting. Don’t give up hope! We know how you are feeling.

I had my daughter reach out to her admissions counselor a couple of times. I’ve heard this before and I really think it’s true that if your child emails and asks when he/she could expect a response, the decision happens quickly thereafter . I’m not sure why and I could be wrong, but I’ve heard it happen that way a few times.
