I see that a lot of people got decisions very soon after emailing the admissions counselor. Did you as the parent send the email or did you have your kids send it? I don’t want to bug anyone but the wait is killing us. LSU is #1 pick but we have heard from other colleges with enticing offers.
I (parent) emailed admissions counselor but it’s probably better if the student does it:-)
I (student) emailed in December, two months after applying in October, and I am still yet to hear back with an admissions decision. I don’t believe it has anything to do with my stats, as I would think that my stats would definitely guarantee me a spot at LSU. Very disappointing, even though this was a safety, it was seriously a school I was considering. Unfortunately, I have since gotten into schools higher on my list, and will probably commit without hearing back from LSU.
That stinks, so sorry. Good luck on your bright future!!!
Thank you for your reply. Dou you think that it helped speed things up for you?
Is anyone still waiting to hear from the Honors College?
We are still waiting on Honors College and merit; admitted in mid-December.
We are still waiting though we applied after the Dec. priority date.
Same. Good to hear it isn’t just us.
Us too. Very late / last minute application.
3.56 GPA. My application was accepted on October 2, 2023. Now 4 months and 2 weeks and havent’ heard anything. It’s now gotten ridiculous. I know a person with a 3.2 that got accepted in 3 weeks. Emailed and called the admissions counselor 3 or 4 times and get the standard form response regarding the “holistic” approach or I should hear back in 2 weeks. It’s been 2 weeks since November.
My application was submitted at the end of September and accepted October 2nd. It’s now 2/16/24 and haven’t heard a single thing.
Same response, but without a time frame. I consider rolling admissions basically as a “first-come-first-serve,” not receiving decisions after other schools’ regular decisions are starting to come out.
My kid was accepted today. Generic congratulations letter on portal w no mention of scholarship. Does that info come later ? Thanks for any info you can provide. Late application but holding out hope for scholarship AND honors admit as we are OOS.
Scholarship for my son came weeks after admittance, maybe over a month actually.
We applied Oct 1, received decision on Jan 17, still waiting on merit
Scholarship notification came 18 days after the acceptance letter (in December). I’m guessing there are just more applications being acted on at the moment.
I was at an OOS admitted student reception on campus with my daughter and they said that directly that scholarships and honors they are still working through and that they had plenty of merit still left to award. They also said they received record applications this year (44,000). If the yield holds to previous years around 27%-30% the acceptance rate is dropping to around 55% from 70%.
So I would say hang tight if you can. For what it’s worth our merit came about a month after acceptance and we are still waiting on honors (accepted on 11/10).
How do I see my admitted major?
Still waiting to hear back about acceptance for my kiddo who applied in November. This is definitely making senior year a lot more stressful!
