Lumber Liquidators hardwood?

Anyone had experience with Lumber Liquidators and their Bellawood brand? I’ve read a lot about them on the gardenweb site forum and other places, mostly bad; sometimes very bad. But they have an A+ rating with the BBB - not just an A … A+ ! All of the complaints can’t be laid to installation!? We’ve been to the store here, and it’s well laid out with sample floors all around - and the manager seems knowledgeable and helpful. Our neighbors have it - installed it themselves - and are happy with it; but the finish looks all cloudy to me. I don’t know what’s up with that. Also it took forever for them to get it.

We did our maid’s room floor from Lumber Liquidators. You have to make sure of what you want: they have manufactured laminate/wood topped wood (1/2 to 3/4 of an inch) and solid wood.

The wood we bought is fine. It will withstand two sanding/restaining. Since we redid a not heavily used area, the 3/4 inch was better than average.

Ignore the Better Business Bureau ratings. If you get a bad rating with them, you can pay money to make it go away. It’s appalling.

We bought solid wood maple for our “cabin” and my husband installed about 1,000 sq. ft. We did not buy the Bellawood brand, we went even cheaper. We picked it up and examined random pieces in the boxes. It’s was super inexpensive and beautiful and it’s been through two winters and two summers of humidity and dry and sun coming in uncurtained windows and a large dog with toenails, ski boots, copious amounts of beach sand and dozens of boys who have visited and it looks great, now whether that is the flooring or my husband’s superior installation (LOL) who knows. We are happy.

We just put in bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators. We love it! No problems, no issues. Much cheaper than anywhere else, and for a very small restocking fee, they took back all the unused boxes.

We’re very happy. (We used our own contractors to do the installation.)

My sister has wide solid maple bellawood flooring. It is beautiful and she loves it. Not from Lumber Liquidators because LL is not in her area. However, the local lumber store could get it for her. She had it installed by the contractors who did her home renovation.

The Bellawood purchased thru LL over the years has received many many wonderful comments from guests.
It’s beautiful.

I recently negotiated with three area stores and got a deal on in stock wood that was $1 less than the posted online prices for Teak to redo the entire upstairs.

No problems - but installation with an experienced person essential.
Don’t buy the thin stuff- make sure to by 3/4 inch thickness and use the heavy nails - not “staples” to install.
