This kid i know lied on his application, stating that he was on our international champion robotics team, when he really wasn’t. I guess U of M didn’t check if he was lying, cuz he got in. This really sucks, cuz he had like a 3.4 GPA, and he did it just to look amazing. Is U of M really lax when it comes to authenticating your resume, do they just take your word for it?

Thunderchickens or something different?

no Team 503 Frog Force from Novi. We had an alliance with the Hot Team 67. WE were champions in 05

My school district’s team (Thunderchickens) always claimed they were the World Champions last year because they won some competition in Atlanta.

UofMHopeful, that’s the problem with ECs and essays isn’t it? Very little can actually be verrified. That’s why I always laugh when people say that small privates actually evaluate their applicants better than large less selective universities like Cal, Cornell, Michigan etc… In the end, what they are evaluating to a large degree are exaggerations.

No I’m sorry dsmo, the “thunderchickens” weren’t the champions in 2005. maybe before, but I am positive that my school;s team and team 67 were the championship alliance. I dont know why your team would lie, but we definitely won the Atlanta Competition…
