M&T Email?

i’d do it, but im not sure i care all that much

do it lol…pleeeaaaasseeee i’d freak out…lol

my friend from penn asked… he said it just means we’ve made it to the committee. doesn’t mean we’re in… it is DEFINITELY not a likely.

thanks a lot pw…how good/ significant is it that we made it to commitee? (does this mean our chances are decent for our single choice atleast - wharton, in my case - if we get rejected from M&T)…oh wait… what do you mean by “we made it to commitee”, isnt everyone’s app read by the committee?

he est we’re in the top 100…

i think in this case, it’s very likely we will get into our second choice… but don’t quote me… at least i hope i do get into SEAS…

i just made an edit to my post: i’ll paste it here
“oh wait… what do you mean by “we made it to commitee”, isnt everyone’s app read by the committee?”

nope… after first two reader, then ones who haven’t been rejected to go committee.

nice, i never knew that…and pw, is there anywhere that i can find more information on how the process goes…the various stages, how the view/ rate our apps etc.

I didn’t get one.
um. so it was an e-mail? maybe my junk mail ate it. (it ate some other college e-mails too)
Where did you hear that, about the top 100 getting e-mails?

hopefully I’ll get into SEAS (M&T seems insane anyways).

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I highly doubt the emails mean anything. Stop fretting everyone =)

i hope it is

abomb, for college admissions, it’s just like essays, instead of proofreading, they just reread your file over… and there are auto rejects after a few reads and there are auto admits after one read… if you are not an auto reject or admit, but is close, they wuill take you to the committee to vote on you… so that means we stil have a chance… and i totally trust my friend at penn for what he asked for me… i’m guessing at 100… i’m not sure… i’ve found out this much, maybe someone else can try to see how many people actually got this email…

one thing for sure, if you got the email, you’ve made it to the comittee.

thanks pw :)

you’re welcome. anytime. :)

ok, here is the thing i found out…

my friend went to the guy’s office and asked him. that’s how he knew about for whom the email was sent… why don’t we try to ask that guy, who signed our email… i will ask about how many ppl will be admitted in the RD round… and someone else could try to ask how many ppl this email is sent to and if this email means that if we don’t get in MT, we are in our second choice for sure…

how does that sound?

So let me get this straight -

If you got the e-mail, you are being considered.
If you didnt, you have been rejected.

Is this correct?

hey pw, i’d be freaked to directly ask them about the email…i wouldnt mind asking about #of people admitted RD lol…interested?

yeah

you can ask for the number of ED admitees and how many spots are left…

i’ll ask about the email i wo’nt go “how many ppl got the email” i’ll say something like how many people usually make it to the commitee…

yeah cool…

abomb, we shouldn’t keep our hopes up high… that email is NOT a likely letter :(

unless someone has evidence that ppl who got it last year, MOST of them got in… then we should just see it as a normal email sent out to all applicants…
