I’m glad you have good options! I’ve applied to local day schools but they’re very selective, and my public school system doesn’t exactly have the best reputation lol

At Hotchkiss, I got there early so I just stayed in one of the normal buildings (Don’t know if that was allowed), but basically, it was as if everyone knew each other. Everyone talked to each other as if they’d been friends since forever, by everyone, I mean literally everyone I saw. Groton was kind of the same thing, but you could see it and feel it there. On my tour, I visited the dorms, and they were really messy (common room) but you could see that people did a lot of things together. Not to mention, Groton’s size is about 400 or 300, so you can imagine how close a community like that would be. One of the people I met said that “Groton’s a place where your voice is heard, and where you can hear everyone else’s voice” To me, that’s why they are my favorite schools. I couldn’t have a connection like that to anyone else at my current school, and I’ve always wanted to do something like that

Ye same, I had to apply to them and their selective :skull:

This is so true lmao

Good luck to us both :wilted_flower::wilted_flower:

Community is one the most important things in a school for me, so that’s very helpful, thank you!!

Any time!

are you in IBDP too :sob:

Sameeee!!

Got 53% in the SAT from Bangladesh and applying for grade 10 (I know SAT is the test is started from grade 11 requirement. But I am recurring grade 10. At first I was supposed to apply in grade 11. That’s why I took the SAT.) ….. Will it ruin my application and chance?

I think it really depends on what schools you’re applying to and the rest of your application. (essay, recs, awards, extracurriculars, grades) Obviously, showing the school(s) you’re applying to that you can handle the academic pressure is important, but that’s only one piece of the puzzle. I don’t think it will ‘ruin’ your chance, it really depends if you can stand out in some other way.

Congrats! My daughter is at Hill and loves it. It is a wonderful, supportive community that balances academic rigor and extensive EC options with kindness and care. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

yayaya! Hill is one of top choices, hope to maybe see you there too!

thank you so much!

Yessss I honestly think if I end up going to boarding school, it would be Hill! What grade are you applying for?

If I don’t get accepted this year (applied to absolutely 0 safeties) I’ll definitely apply to more schools such as Hill (Hill is not a safety, but it’s a good school), and I would probably apply to other boarding schools. My public High school is really bad
