M10...how does it 'work'?

stargirl3: Schools that use electronic communications (most?) will post results to applicant’s accounts regardless of the day M10 falls on. Some schools, like NMH, may notify on M9. I haven’t see any U.S. schools that do not notify on M9 or M10; there may be some, but they aren’t the ones most frequently mentioned here. In any case, electronic communications go out on time regardless of the day.

For schools that notify via Fed-Ex, the day also doesn’t seem to be an issue.

If you look at the results postings for M10 for the past few years, it appears that U.S. applicants reliably get their electronic or Fed-Ex notifications on M10, but the duplicate snail mail communication may arrive a day or two later. Financial aid notification may also arrive later; not every school links admission results with FA results and may send those separately.

GMT needs to chime in here regarding communications for international applicants, but it seems that by the end of the day on M10, everyone has their admit/waitlist/reject notifications with just perhaps the FA info lagging over the next few days.

As always, the schools themselves are the best sources of accurate information. Check the websites for current info, call if it’s not clearly posted.
