DD is enrolled I’m Math M18 to prepare her for M118 next semester. This class is supposed to be a pass/fail but the professor told them They will receive an F unless they get an 80% or better in the class. Why on earth would a pass/fail require an 80%. My daughter has a 78% so she will get an F and at will hurt her on her transcript. Is there someone she can talk to about correcting this? Our understanding of pass/fail is that pass should be anything other than an F.

It is odd that professor would do that. Perhaps a retake later can be considered if it indeed happens.

octoberdana, I noticed from a previous thread that you live in Indiana.

It might be easier for your daughter to take Finite Math 135 at an Ivy Tech campus in the summer and then transfer the credit to IUB as credit for M118 rather than take finite at IUB. IUB is obligated to accept the credit per statewide agreements; I think a solid “C” or higher will transfer to IUB. Finite is probably much easier at any Ivy Tech campus, except maybe Ivy Tech Bloomington. You can also probably take it online in the summer, which I think involves taking tests at the regional campus two or three times per semester.

Here is a list of classes that transfer.

You might also confirm the particular Ivy Tech campus from the transfer credit list below.
