My husband went to a similarly designed school in another state, but with arts thrown in as well. His was a boarding school. Is this one? Competition for admittance was brutal. They chose the same number of students from each county as there were representatives in the state legislature so they would have a cross section of the state.

MA Academy is a public school, there is no boarding. There is a test for admittance. It is for gifted high achievers. I am wondering how it compares to the top boarding schools academically. Class selection may be more limited than at the larger boarding schools, but a student can only take so many classes each year no matter where they attend. I suspect the academics are as good as those at a top boarding school, but wonder if anyone here knows…
