Mac RD 2024

Accepted! 1520/3.98W. But, No mention of scholarship in the letter and not eligible for need based. So I’m assuming we would be on the hook for the full cost?

That would be a shame, because my kid is very excited about a Mac specific program and and certain Mac professor. But, we already have William and Mary (Monroe scholar), Wooster, St. Olaf and Pitt Honors College at $45k net or less, and 5 colleges left to hear from. We can not justify the $30k (or more) upcharge. I was hoping there would be something in merit aid so we could try to make it work.

Having my kid admitted does make feel good about the schools still outstanding. Best of luck to all.

@NOVA2024 it’s not in the letter. Look at the bottom - for me, there were three documents: 1) the admissions letter 2) the scholarship letter 3) my financial aid award

my son got declined, it was a reach school and not 100% match, but I am sure he is slightly bummed, best of luck to everyone who got it.

hmmmm. For him there is a just a letter. A YouTube video at the bottom. But no links for scholarship award or financial aid. Is this is the email, or the applicant page.

For all other schools he has at least had the $5500 unsub. Stafford show up in financial aid, and that’s not here either???

Accepted!! Received only a 6000/yr scholarship but the rest of the financial aid was generous. This was one of my top schools so I’m pretty happy!

@NOVA2024 mine looks like this right under the video:

The following letters are available for this account:

Admission Decision Letter - March 8, 2020 (displayed)
Scholarship - March 8, 2020
Financial Aid Eligibility - March 8, 2020

Huh. This is once you log into the portal before you click on the letter? Or once you click through to the letter? Or is it on the email? Because we haven’t gotten an email yet. He just logged it the portal, once people started to report decisions.

We didn’t have a financial aid award or scholarship award when we opened his portal, or once we. Licked through to the letter. And we are eligible for the $5500 unsub. Stafford, so there should be something???

@NOVA2024 I haven’t gotten an email either. For me, once I clicked on the letter, this was at the bottom of the page. No idea what Stafford is, but you should call the financial aid office tomorrow if you think there’s a mistake

djs2020, are you a National Merit Semifinalist? My son was Commended and received the same scholarship as you, but for $20K.

@fikafika I was commended as well. Congrats to your son!

That’s great - congrats!!

@nova2024

My kid is also into Mac with generous scholarship and merit aid. Make sure your student has checked all the correspondence from Mac. With those stats there should be merit money for your child.

Curious where you learned your child is a Monroe Scholar at William and Mary? I didn’t think acceptances were out yet except ED. My kid received a Cipher card but not her formal acceptance yet.

Anyone else invited to the fly-in program??

Yep, I’m going from April 9-11!

@Cinnamom @arianaflores how did you get invited to it?

It was a document available with your admission letter and financial aid information. And omg, I’m going that weekend, too! Hope to see you there!

Decision: Accepted with $17,500 DeWitt Wallace scholarship
My stats: 33 ACT (super score), 3.91 WGPA
Major applied: Japanese, Neuroscience

Yep ^^ what the previous user said. I think it’s for a multicultural overnight. When you log into the portal and check your updates there might be something that talks about it (it is separate from the acceptance letter). Also @Cinnamom I hope to see you too!!

I was accepted RD as a QuestBridge Scholar, so full demonstrated need is met.

No SAT or subject tests
